DISCOVER THE EXHIBITION OF PALAZZO LEONI MONTANARI STRAIGHTAWAY

High-quality images and audio tracks will introduce you to the exhibition even before you physically get there. They will enrich your tour of the exhibition and enable you to continue this stimulating experience even when you have left the Galleries.

The application comprises 14 listening points accompanied by a written text, explanatory images and an integrated search engine to rapidly identify the listening points.

The small exhibition is part of “East West. Pages of Art and Culture in Palazzo Leoni Montanari”, the series of special-theme exhibitions which aims to make the whole collection of Russian icons kept in Palazzo Leoni Montanari known to the public. Each time, a few of the panels, which are usually kept in the deposit and never displayed to the public, are selected on the basis of themes which are ‘transversal’ to both Russian/Byzantine art and the development of western art. Each page of art and culture includes illustrative panels whose text and images are dedicated to the particular theme dealt with. Each mini-exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue, which can be bought at the bookshop of the Galleries. This presents historical/critical information sheets about the works on show, as well as essays which analyse the themes in depth. This special-theme exhibition is organised on the occasion of the publication of the book: “St. Peter and St. Mark. Art and Iconography in the Adriatic Area”, promoted by the National Committee for the 500th Anniversary of the St. Peter’s Basilica.

For those not possessing mobile Apple devices, iPod Touches with the application will be available at the exhibition site, to accompany visitors on an interactive journey round the main works on display. One more opportunity, then, to visit the exhibition “The stone and the lion. St. Peter and St. Mark in the Christian East. Icons from the Intesa Sanpaolo collection.”

The multimedia guide is available free of charge in ENGLISH and ITALIAN.

The application is compatibile with iPhone and iPod Touch and requires a 3.0 or later version.
